Hans Van den Broeck deutet in seinem Stück The Lee Ellroy Show den brutalen Mord an der Mutter James Ellroys in einen Selbstmord um. Dabei bedient er sich in seiner Choreografie des Liedes Heite Drah I Mi Ham von Wolfgang Ambros. Aber er macht es sich nicht so einfach. Er hat das in Wiener Mundart geschriebene Original von Ben Becker ins Schriftdeutsche übersetzen lassen und lässt beide Versionen von seinen Darstellerinnen Jake Ingram-Dodd und Anuschka Von Oppen in einen mundartlich/schriftdeutschen Wettstreit darstellen. Ähnlich wie an der Oper haben sich die beiden Künstlerinnen dieser beiden Sprachen bemächtigt. So singt und performt Ingram-Dodd das ambros’sche Original, und Von Oppen die bundesdeutsche Übersetzung Heute fahre ich nach Haus.

Bei dieser Zeile treten Jake Ingram-Dodd und Anuschka Von Oppen vor das Publikum. Ingram-Dodd dirigiert das Publikum österreichischer Zunge, Von Oppen das Restpublikum.

Ja, das schöne bundesdeutsche Blut hat es Hans Van den Broeck angetan. Endlich ist es gewiss, dass das Blut nicht arm ist, wie Ambros immer versicherte. Hans Van den Broeck, der Lebensretter, Christ, Heidenbekehrer. Golgatha statt Jesolo. So als wäre Jesus aus Jesolo und noch immer solo, und Hans Van den Broeck aus Bethlehem.
Bei diesen Aussichten verlängere ich meinen Urlaub in Lido di Jesolo noch bis 17.8. Jesolo ist eine Stadt mit 24.584 Einwohnern (Stand 31.12.2013)

In his piece The Lee Ellroy Show Hans Van den Broeck reinterprets the brutal murder of James Ellroy‘s mother as a suicide. In his choreography he uses the song heite drah i mi ham by Wolfgang Ambros. But he does not do it the easy way. He had the original lyrics, which are in Viennese dialect, translated into English by Gabriel Schöller, so two versions can be presented by the performers Jake Ingram-Dodd and Anuschka Von Oppen in a Viennese-German vs. English competition. Like at the opera, the two artists have taken control of these two languages. So Ingram-Dodd sings and performs the Ambros-original and Von Oppen the English translation T’day I’m ending it all.

Hans Van den Broeck really falls for his poor Belgian blood. Finally, it is certain that his blood is poor, as Ambros has always assured. Hans Van den Broeck, the lifesaver, Christian, converter.
